The Signs Of Christianity

After the crucifixion of Christ on Golgotha, many of his followers spread throughout the world and continued the message of God’s love for the world. Some rulers felt very threatened by these teachings and they began to kill Christians wherever they could be found. Christians developed a sign for their Christian beliefs and would mark the ground and other areas with a sign of a fish.

The fish signs used in Christianity have been expanded to be more expressive of the amount of faith someone feels that they have. Some people wear fishes with hooks in their mouths to show the world that they are totally hooked on their religion. The direction of the fish has also been used to emphasize which direction that person expects to take when they are called home by God to live in Heaven.

Other signs of Christianity take a more modern approach to identifying the Christian religion. Some people view that God is the co-pilot of their vehicle while other drivers are very adamant about God piloting everything that is in their life, including the car that they drive. The Red Cross can be instantly recognized as a haven and a place where people can get a fresh supply of blood which is vital for living. All of these factors surround the Christian concept but are not necessarily religious.

Many weddings and celebrations use doves as a symbol that the Holy Spirit is present. The Holy Spirit is also recognized through baptisms when the use of Holy water is gently applied to a child’s forehead. These symbols are based on the Christian belief that all things can become new with a belief and trust in God. The Lord Jesus is represented by a lamb and is typically placed in a child’s room to keep them safe from harm.

Some people use words as symbolic representations that there is some form of Christianity in their life. References such as a Higher Power are used in recovery programs to help people return to the flock and learn to repair the damages that their drug of choice has caused in their lives. Turning the addiction over to the Higher Power is clear recognition that God takes care of all things in their own time.

Other signs of Christianity are common place on church steeples around the world. Many people use the cross as a way of telling the world that they are Christians. People that have no religious beliefs will typically worship the Devil by turning the cross upside down. This display is readily apparent and worries any Christian immensely. Seeing the sign of the cross around somebody’s neck will brighten the day of any Christian in knowing that there is another believer in the crowd.
