Beating the Crunch!

Its everyday in the news..more are getting laid off..electronic companies are letting workers go or cutting back on shifts..governments are spending BILLIONS to recover…so how do we cope? How do mothers like us cope to embrace this crunch and foreseen economic downturn.

Children’s stuff are getting more expensive and we are trying to save on unnecassary purchases or indulgences.Well, mothers of all income…there are definately ways to beat this!

1) House Brands – definately recommend that you start looking into buying house brands. Most of the times, packaging wise would be pretty plain but hey, its quality product at a much, much cheaper price. From pampers, cotton buts and baby toiletries, even food products are as yummy as those premium brands !

2) Grocery List – Love the browsing and popping into malls but time calls for planning !So ,get a pen and paper and do up your grocery list for the week/month/bi-weekly; you decide. A proper list avoids unplanned purchases, keeps your spending focus only on the needed.

3) Good home cooked meal – A home cooked meal not is much more nutritious and fresh, it also curbs your spending on outside meals but it also minimizes the obesity risk of over-eating as outside meals are normally larger in portion, high in trans-fatty and of the ‘junk food/fast food’ category.A good warm home cooked meal also brings the family together:)

4) Be creative for entertainment or outing (Free entertainment)- There are plenty of activities out there which is FREE and yet, your whole family would still have fun and lots of learning..Bring them out for a picnic, cycling, a stroll in the park, hiking .Be creative! It could even be in your back yard!

These are the top 4 that could really help. But remember that WISE SPENDING and budgeting is No.1 to make all things work.

Its time to be a family and co-operate as one :)
