Allergies are the common health problems that most of us face. But do you ever think about your children or your newborn child. The worst fear that a parent has is to find out regarding a life threatening allergy too late.
There is a particular product called memory foam which helps in sleeping disorders and even allergy. Memory foam is made from polyurethane with additional chemicals that increase its viscosity level, thereby increasing its density. It is often referred to as visco-elastic polyurethane foam. Depending on the chemicals used and its overall density, it is firmer in cool temperatures and softer when warm. Higher density memory foam reacts to body heat which allows it to mould itself to the shape of a warm body within a few minutes. A lower density memory foam is pressure-sensitive and will mould more quickly to the shape of the body. The example often used to demonstrate its properties is that a hand pressed into the foam and then removed will leave a clear impression in the foam.
I did a lot of research on memory foam before making my first purchase. I went from store to store, checked out listings on eBay and did a lot of research on the internet as I wanted to get the most from my investment.
I didn’t know if I wanted a full mattress or a topper and I found there was loads of memory foam terminology that I had never heard of. Things like; Tempurpedic, Sensus, Nasa, visco, ILD density (I didn’t know if they were referring to me or the mattress at this point!). I was confused!
I purchased a traditional mattress a few years ago and was not ready to throw it out so I decided on a topper. I identified that a topper is a good investment when your mattress still has some longevity or you’re not ready financially to make the leap to a full memory foam mattress. A topper is also a good way to get used to memory foam before committing to a mattress. I’m very happy with my topper and I’m already looking forward to buying my first memory foam mattress.
Memory foam sells under many different brand names – NASA Foam, Tempurpedic, Sensus, Sealy, the list goes on. Prices vary substantially as well. Just because it is expensive, does not mean that it is the best. You need to ask the right questions.
There is still hope, scientists at Johns Hopkins have developed sugar-coated polymer strands that selectively kill off cells involved in triggering aggressive allergy and asthma attacks http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/11/091119194126.htm I for one would appreciate enjoying a nice day outdoors without worrying about my pollen allergy.
