We can be as happy as we want to by simply counting our blessings. When we take into consideration the fact that there are many children in hospitals suffering with all manner of debilitating illnesses who display such wonderful attitudes to life, how bad can what we have on our minds really be? There is always a way to overcome our concerns if a positive attitude is taken.

You should be thankful for all the good things in your life. When you wake up in the mornings think about all the people who love and appreciate you and be grateful that they feature in your life too.

Quite often there may be a particular object which makes you think about good times. For example, the beautiful flower arrangement reminding you that someone cares. Take a long look at the flowers each morning and the day will take on a special meaning. An item such as this should be placed where you can see it, as soon as you wake up and this will put you in the right mood for the rest of the day.

Set yourself a plan for the day and stick to it. It does not matter if it’s a business plan or simply the household chores you are going to carry out – having a plan makes your time important and more valued. Of course, keeping yourself busy gets rids of the blues and also ensures you accomplish a lot as well. You will have a feel of being worthwhile and your life will have a style and purpose which will be noticed and appreciated by those close to you.

When you feel like things are getting on top of you and that you are spiraling downwards, take a step back and do all you can to raise your spirits. How often have you said “I’d like to leave the rat race” or heard someone else say it? But what exactly is the rat race and how do you leave it?

Does this sound like your job? If so, you could be caught up in a vicious cycle that gives you little freedom to enjoy your life or hope for future financial freedom.

Of course, if you are happy with your job you don’t need to read any further!

However, in most jobs you will be paid a weekly or monthly salary which is usually dictated by your employer. You trade your precious hours for the money you need to buy food and other things that you need or want. The options for increasing your income are limited, and when you do you may find you have less time to enjoy the things the money buys you, more pressure and more stress. Furthermore, your rate of pay always has a ceiling. No matter how far you can climb up the ladder, there is usually a limit on how much you can actually earn.

If you are not really happy in your job or career, of course you could always find a different one. This can work out for many people, and if working for an employer is what you want, then go out and find the job you love.

However, for many people, working in a job which basically is only going to make big money for the man at the top is a soul destroying experience. Trying to get ahead in work that does not really inspire you can lead to disillusion, frustration and eventual burnout. Why spend your life like this?

How do you break out of this cycle and create true financial freedom?

Every single person has the power and ability to control their own life. If you don’t like the job you are in, or if you hate the rat race, you can find an alternative. You have to remember that your life really is your own. Take charge and create a life that you want.

Secondly, find someone who is already achieving this dream and learn from them.

You don’t have to leave your job immediately. Many successful online businesses have been started on top of full time employment, using the spare room or a corner where there’s space for a computer. Within just two years you could be earning a full time income and be able to sack your boss for good.

Look around. Find successful people. Find out what they are doing. There are many opportunities for you to leave the rat race. You just have to break the cycle.

Everyone needs to learn to cope with anger; having a fit of rage is counterproductive and causes, rather than solves problems. We learn how to process anger as we grow; unfortunately not everyone learns how to do this in a healthy manner. Despite your upbringing, you may have still never learned to appropriately cope with anger. For instance, take a child who is rarely praised but frequently punished. This child will very likely grow up to be an adult who ends up punishing his or herself when they make mistakes and has serious problems expressing or controlling anger.

However, most mistakes, even relatively serious ones have no long lasting impact on out lives; so it makes little sense to beat ourselves up over them. Instead, learn from your mistakes. By using positive thinking, you can get a handle on your anger. Anger can be useful when it is channeled into constructive action. However it can also be a powerful negative force in our lives. You can control your anger, or you can allow it to control you.

Control, or the lack of it is the cause of much anger. Learn to talk to yourself; this can be a useful strategy for managing anger. Take a little time out each day (say 15 minutes) to talk over things with yourself. Examine any negative feelings you have and try to figure out why you feel this way. Go over the positive things you do every day and give yourself a pat on the back. If you have made a mistake and are beating yourself up over it, take this time t put things in context. Remember that everyone makes mistakes from time to time.

If you find yourself getting angry at the drop of a hat; screaming, breaking things and so on think for a minute about this when you are taking things over with yourself. If you’ve broken things you’ll obviously need to clean it up. You will have accomplished nothing by this other than having had to take some extra time to clean up. You’ve wasted your time, your energy and likely your money to replace whatever you’ve smashed. You are upsetting yourself further when you scream and rant; this can contribute to health problems like hypertension. Just some things to think about.

Think about ways to deal positively with your anger. Step back for a second when you feel your anger about to take over. You’ll probably find you don’t really have cause to be so angry. However, if there’s a very good reason for you to be angry then think about a good way to use this anger. Remember that more flies are caught with honey…. If you are angry as a result of non stop stress, you then need a strategy for dealing with stress.

Make time for yourself to relax in your schedule. Prioritize your tasks throughout the day to get things done efficiently; this will lower your stress. Don’t procrastinate; this will lead to things piling up. Remember that you are not a superhuman being and you can’t do it all at once and you will make an occasional mistake.

Remind yourself that nothing is permanent. If you made a mistake, it will pass. If you set yourself up for a fall, don’t be surprised when that happens. If you set unrealistic expectations for yourself, stress will be the end result. Take a deep breath, calm down and take things a day at a time – this can help you to effectively cope with stress and anger.
